Zhejiang Investment & Trade Symposium and China International Consumer Goods Fair (“Symposium” and “Fair” for short) are held in Ningbo from June 8th to June 12th each year. They are comprehensive events in Zhejiang featuring foreign economic and trade exchanges. During the nine Symposiums since 1999, over 2798 projects were accumulatively signed, involving a total contractual investment of over 24.74 billion USD. The Fair is sponsored by both the Minister of Commerce P.R.C. and Zhejiang Provincial People’s Government. As a key exhibition supported by the Minister of Commerce P.R.C., over the years it has realized a total import and export trade turnover of 4.698 billion USD. The Symposiums and Fairs over the years have also introduced a great many talents and scientific & technological results from home and abroad. Recent years every Symposium and Fair have annually attracted over 10 thousand foreign guests.
      The 10th Zhejiang Investment & Trade Symposium and the 7th China International Consumer Goods Fair will be held in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province from June 8th to June 12th, 2008. This Symposium and Fair will provide five parts of activities: Zhejiang Open Economic Achievements & 10-year ZJITS Review Exhibition, Investment Matching Sessions, Import & Export Goods Exhibition and Trade (7th China International Consumer Goods Fair), Open & Development International Forum, and Exchange and Cooperation of Talents, Science and Technology. The first part will arrange open economic achievements exhibition of cities in Zhejiang, as well as investment meetings; the second part will include such events as industry matching session, promotional conference on national (regional) investment environment, and project signing ceremony; in the 7th China International Consumer Goods Fair, about 10, 000 kinds of high quality products with famous brands from over 1,000 companies from home and abroad will be exhibited; focusing on the characteristics and advantages of Zhejiang Province and depending on new situation and demand of Zhejiang’s open economy, the open & development international forum of Zhejiang will arrange several effective and interactively adequate forums on special subjects, such as “logistics and free port” and “China’s opening-up”; the part of exchange and cooperation of talents, science and technology will carry on exchanges and discussions on overseas talents and technological results introduction with domestic and overseas research institutes and institutions of higher learning.
